As a professional violinist, based in the West Midlands UK, since 1980, my background includes a wealth of experience, from playing in bands like "Barbara Thompson's Paraphernalia", sessions for TV and Radio, thousands of gigs worldwide at venues such as The Savoy in London , Grosvenor House in Park Lane, London , Zurich Jazz Festival and many weddings, family and corporate events. Unique… What sets me apart from many other professional violinists is that I primarily play electric violin. I am the owner of a 6 string electric violin which is made by Dave Bruce Johnson and is called a "Violectra". This instrument allows me to play the entire range of a violin, viola and through to most of the cello range and as I use cordless radio-transmitter systems, this allows me complete freedom to move around a venue and guests find this really adds to the atmosphere. Entertainer… As an experienced entertainer I am sympathetic to the mood and requirements of an event, I know how to "Work the Room", livening things up or keeping in the background as necessary! I also perform in a number of duos: two violins violin / trumpet violin - piano / accordion violin / female vocals Repertoire for all tastes… My wide and varied repertoire extends through popular modern pieces, American, Irish and Russian showpieces, jazz standards and classical favourites, all performed live over professionally prepared backing tracks. Especially for you… For weddings, Christening, Barmitzva or corporate events, I would work out a programme specifically designed for you which would be dependent on your personal choices and the style of the event itself.
